Daylight saving time × standard time
Because Brasília has no daylight saving time, the Nasdaq time on your clock changes when the other side changes its clocks. Here are both tables, calculated with real time zone rules:
| Phase | Local time | Brasília |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-market | 04:00–09:30 EDT | 05:00–10:30 |
| Regular session | 09:30–16:00 EDT | 10:30–17:00 |
| After-hours | 16:00–20:00 EDT | 17:00–21:00 |
| Phase | Local time | Brasília |

| Pre-market | 04:00–09:30 EST | 06:00–11:30 |
| Regular session | 09:30–16:00 EST | 11:30–18:00 |
| After-hours | 16:00–20:00 EST | 18:00–22:00 |
The next clock change in the United States is on Sunday, November 1, 2026: daylight saving time ends and standard time returns (the clocks go back one hour). From Monday, November 2, 2026, in Brasília time the open moves from 10:30 to 11:30 and the close moves from 17:00 to 18:00.
US and European clocks do not change on the same day: the next US change is on November 1, 2026 and the next European change on October 25, 2026. For 7 days London and New York are 4 hours apart instead of the usual 5.
Overlap in Brasília time
Window when both regular sessions are open at the same time, calculated for Wednesday, October 7, 2026:
- Nasdaq × B3: 10:30–16:55 (with the US on standard time (EST, UTC−5): 11:30–17:55)
Who trades and when
Nasdaq is a fully electronic exchange based in New York, known for technology companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and Nvidia and for the Nasdaq-100 index. The regular session follows the same hours as the NYSE, so the conversion to Brasília time is identical.
Nasdaq has a pre-market session (4:00–9:30 a.m. New York time) and after-hours (4:00–8:00 p.m.). Nasdaq and the NYSE have announced an overnight session (9:00 p.m.–4:00 a.m. New York time) scheduled to start on December 6, 2026; check its status on the exchange website before relying on it. Access to extended sessions depends on your broker.
Because many Nasdaq stocks react strongly to quarterly results, which tend to come out after the close or before the open, pre-market and after-hours trading matter more during earnings weeks.
Hours source and holidays
The hours follow the general trading schedule published by the exchange (see the Nasdaq website (nasdaq.com)). The exchange can change its schedule, so check the exchange website before trading. Market holidays and early-close days are not considered on this page: check the Nasdaq trading calendar.
