Daylight saving time 2026: when it starts and ends in each country
Daylight saving time (DST) moves clocks forward, usually by one hour, during the months with the most daylight. Brazil no longer uses it, but much of the world does, and it changes the time difference with Brasília twice a year. The table below shows the next clock changes in each country, calculated automatically from the time zone rules currently in force.
In northern hemisphere countries such as the United States, Canada and Europe, DST usually runs from March or April until October or November. In the southern hemisphere, in countries such as Chile, Paraguay and Australia, it is the other way around: DST runs from September or October until March or April. Brazil had daylight saving time for decades, but it was abolished in 2019 (see the guide to time zones and the history of DST in Brazil).

Countries without daylight saving time
Many countries do not change their clocks during the year. These include Brazil, Japan, China, India, Argentina and most of Africa and Asia. For them, the difference from Brasília is fixed. See the full list on the countries page or compare cities on world time.
How daylight saving time affects calls and meetings
The practical rule is to check the time difference on the date of the meeting, not today's date. A meeting scheduled after a clock change may end up one hour off from what you expect. Use the meeting planner, which already takes each city's daylight saving time on the chosen date into account.

No. Brazil abolished daylight saving time in 2019. Brazilian clocks stay the same all year round, so the time difference with countries that do change their clocks shifts by one hour twice a year.
How does daylight saving time change the difference with Brasília?
When a country moves its clocks forward by one hour, it gets one hour further from Brasília if it is ahead of us (like Portugal) or one hour closer if it is behind us (like the US). When the period ends, the difference goes back to what it was before.
