Build a countdown to anything that matters to you: a trip, a wedding, an exam, a product launch or the end of a deadline. Fill in the form above and the clock starts at once; copy the link and everyone who opens it sees exactly the same countdown.
How the custom countdown works
Enter a name, a date and a time, then choose the time zone where the event happens. The page converts that local time into one exact instant and subtracts the current time, which comes from this site's server rather than from your device. That detail matters: a phone or computer with a wrong clock would otherwise show a wrong countdown. The numbers update every second, and the bar shows how much of the way between the moment you created the countdown and the event has already been covered.
Why the time zone matters
"Midnight on January 1" arrives at a different instant in each part of the world: Auckland celebrates many hours before São Paulo, and São Paulo before Los Angeles. If you pick the zone of the event, the countdown aims at the right instant for everybody who sees it, even if they live somewhere else. Daylight saving time is applied automatically using the official zone rules, so a launch scheduled for 9:00 in New York stays at 9:00 New York time before and after the clocks change. Brazil has no daylight saving time, so Brasília time stays at UTC-3 all year.
Ideas for your countdown
- Trips and moves: count to the moment your flight leaves, using the departure city's time zone.
- Exams and deadlines: keep a sober, visible reminder of how long is left to study or to hand something in.
- Weddings, birthdays and graduations: share the link with family and guests.
- Launches and releases: set the time in the team's time zone so remote colleagues all watch the same clock.
- Live events and streams: a countdown that already says "begins at 8 p.m. in Lisbon" avoids confusion.
Days only, or weeks and days
For distant dates a single big number of days is easy to read at a glance, while "weeks and days" suits pregnancies, school terms and training plans. Choose the style in the Display menu; it is saved in the link too.
Sharing and saving
The event details live in the page address, after the # sign, so nothing is stored on a server and no account is needed. Bookmark the page, send the link by message or paste it on a shared calendar. Once the moment passes, the page switches to "happened … ago" and keeps counting, which is handy for anniversaries and "days since" trackers.
