Time zone and UTC offset in St Johns
St Johns follows the America/St_Johns time zone, abbreviated NDT. Right now its offset from Coordinated Universal Time is UTC-2:30. Note the 30-minute fraction: unlike most of the world, this zone is not set on a whole hour, so the difference from Brasília is not a round number of hours either.
Daylight saving time is in effect at the moment, which means local clocks run ahead of standard time. The next change comes on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 02:00: clocks go back 1 hour, so at 02:00 the clock goes back to 01:00 and the offset becomes UTC-3:30. From that day the difference from Brasília is 30 minutes behind. The change after that is on Sunday, March 14, 2027 at 02:00.
