It is 07:36 on Saturday, October 3, 2026 in Christmas, Christmas Island. The city runs on UTC+7, which puts it 10 hours ahead of Brasília.
Time zone and UTC offset in Christmas
Christmas follows the Indian/Christmas time zone (this zone has no widely used letter abbreviation). Right now its offset from Coordinated Universal Time is UTC+7.
Christmas does not observe daylight saving time and no clock change is scheduled for the next year. Its offset stays at UTC+7 all year round. Brazil abolished daylight saving time in 2019, so the gap between the two stays fixed at 10 hours. That makes scheduling predictable: a meeting booked for any date of the year at a given Brasília time always lands at the same local time in Christmas.
Time difference between Brasília and Christmas
To convert, take Brasília time and add 10 hours; when the sum passes midnight, the date in Christmas is already the next day. The table uses today's offsets.
Going the other way, local noon in Christmas is 02:00 in Brasília, and local midnight is 14:00 (previous day) in Brasília. Because Christmas is ahead, its calendar date is one day later than in Brasília from 14:00 until midnight Brasília time. Keep this in mind for deadlines, flights and anything scheduled around the start or end of a day.
| Brasília (UTC-3) | Christmas (UTC+7) |
|---|---|
| 06:00 | 16:00 |
| 09:00 | 19:00 |
| 12:00 | 22:00 |
| 15:00 | 01:00 (next day) |
| 18:00 | 04:00 (next day) |
| 21:00 | 07:00 (next day) |
Best time to call Christmas from Brazil
With a difference of 10 hours, the 9:00 to 18:00 working days do not overlap at all. The least inconvenient slot is around 08:00 in Brasília, which is 18:00 in Christmas: one side will be early or late, so agree in writing who takes the awkward hour. Messages and recorded updates work better than live calls here.
