Time zone and UTC offset in Antananarivo
Antananarivo follows the Indian/Antananarivo time zone, abbreviated EAT. Right now its offset from Coordinated Universal Time is UTC+3.
Antananarivo does not observe daylight saving time and no clock change is scheduled for the next year. Its offset stays at UTC+3 all year round. Brazil abolished daylight saving time in 2019, so the gap between the two stays fixed at 6 hours. That makes scheduling predictable: a meeting booked for any date of the year at a given Brasília time always lands at the same local time in Antananarivo.
Time difference between Brasília and Antananarivo
To convert, take Brasília time and add 6 hours; when the sum passes midnight, the date in Antananarivo is already the next day. The table uses today's offsets.
Going the other way, local noon in Antananarivo is 06:00 in Brasília, and local midnight is 18:00 (previous day) in Brasília. Because Antananarivo is ahead, its calendar date is one day later than in Brasília from 18:00 until midnight Brasília time. Keep this in mind for deadlines, flights and anything scheduled around the start or end of a day.
