North Korea is 12 hours ahead of Brasília right now. When it is 12:00 in Brasília, it is 00:00 (next day) in North Korea. And it stays the same all year.
How many hours apart today
To find the time in North Korea, add 12 hours to the time in Brasília. North Korea follows Asia/Pyongyang (UTC+9), while Brasília is on UTC-3, so people there are already living further into the day: when it is 12:00 in Brasília, it is 00:00 (next day) in North Korea.
From 12:00 in Brasília it is already the next calendar day in North Korea.
Daylight saving time: does the gap change?
No. Under current rules neither North Korea nor Brazil changes its clocks, so the difference of 12 hours holds all year round: a meeting fixed at the same Brasília time lands at the same local time in every season, with no need to recheck in March or October. Brazil abolished daylight saving time in 2019, and it only matters for the gap when the other country changes its clocks. See the daylight saving time guide for the countries that do.

Best times to call or hold a meeting
With a gap of 12 hours, the 9:00-18:00 office hours do not overlap at all. Someone will always be early or late: pick the time that is least bad for each side, such as early morning in Brasília or the end of the day, and rotate the inconvenience.
From Brazil, when it is 09:00 in Brasília, it is 21:00 in North Korea (late in the day, still reasonable); at 12:00 it is 00:00 (next day) (night or very early, best avoided); and at 18:00 it is 06:00 (next day) (night or very early, best avoided).
In the other direction, a call made in North Korea at 9:00 reaches Brasília at 21:00 (previous day) (late in the day, still reasonable); at 12:00 it is 00:00 there (night or very early, best avoided); and at 18:00, 06:00 (night or very early, best avoided).
The same arithmetic helps with flights, whose departure and arrival times on tickets are always in the local time of each airport, and with live broadcasts announced in another time zone. Always convert the announced time before you plan. The meeting planner compares both clocks hour by hour.
